Barbados: England emerged victorious in the second T20I against West Indies, winning by seven wickets with 31 balls to spare at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. This victory gives England a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
Chasing a target of 159, England reached 161/3 in just 14.5 overs, powered by a stellar performance from Jos Buttler, who scored an unbeaten 83 off 45 balls and was named Player of the Match. Buttler’s innings included powerful strokes and quick running between the wickets, anchoring England’s chase.
Earlier, West Indies scored 158/8 in their 20 overs, with Rovman Powell top-scoring with 43 off 41 balls. Contributions from Romario Shepherd (22 off 12) and Nicholas Pooran (14 off 23) helped West Indies reach a respectable total. However, it was not enough to hold off the strong English side.
In England’s bowling attack, Liam Livingstone, Saqib Mahmood, and Dan Mousley each picked up two wickets, effectively limiting West Indies’ scoring opportunities.
England will look to secure the series in the upcoming matches, while West Indies will aim to bounce back in the third T20I to keep their hopes alive.
